Felica’s mother tells: Three days without you is almost unbearable but necessary. For eight years Felica has been in a short time accommodation every other weekend.... Already as a three-year-old our little heart had to sleep without her parents. Why? We needed/need the respite. Not from Felica and her love but from her disabilities people in the house the constant monitoring that a child with disabilities like hers implies. We're like two different parents when Felicia is home and when she is gone. Ebba can blossom and gets the chance not to be constrained by norms and rules of society. Would I have wished for another life? Of course, yes, for Felicia and Ebba. I would have wished that Felicia had a functioning body that followed her will, that obeyed her thoughts and who could defy her parents as much as she wanted. Now life looks like this and she gets to lead us. We are not sorry because it's not sad to have someone as warm as Felicia around us. Life just turned out a little different.
