Story of a diver; Emma, Sweden " Hello divers! My name is Emma Partanen and live in Lysekil on the Swedish west coast. I was born outisde of Skövde, in the mi...ddle of Sweden, not really close to any water at all. My first experience with the underwater world and diving was through my father when I was a kid. He had been traveling around the world to different dive sites in the 80's and I loved all the pictures of this new part of the world. Since then, being underwater in all different ways and exploring what's underneith the surface has always been a big part of my life! I got my own certificate as soon as I graduated from school and after that I've continued until I became an instructor. I've been working with diving for 5 years mostly in Sweden here in Lysekil, but also in Australia. I studied in Townsville, Queensland 6 months as a part of my bachelore in marine and environmental science. Combining my knowledge from University with what I've learned from becoming an instructor is the best match. At the same time I get to teach people the beauty of diving as a sport I feel that I really can motivate why we should protect our environment. Diving really is my safe space where I can feel the most calm. Diving has brought me not just a safe space but also so many friends and appreciation for the nature in so many ways.
