Strengthening institutions is crucial for mending Nordic trust and for building regional resilience in a post-pandemic world. This is the premise of a new academic article penned by three Nordregio researchers Alberto Giacometti, Mari Wøien Meijer and John Moodie. Nordic Cooperation amid Pandemic Travel Restrictions - the webinar and launch of the new report today. The Covid-19 pandemic effect for the Nordic cooperation was very clear when pandemic measures questioned free movement within the Nordic Region. The webinar aims to explore the situation both at the political level and for cross-border regions. It seeks to discuss whether there is room for improvement in handling a crisis like the pandemic. Contrary to what many might think, house price bubbles have been a rare phenomenon in the Nordic countries in the last couple of decades. While house prices have risen to historically high levels, the only indications of a price bubble were found in Denmark in the period before the global financial crisis in 2008.
