New work for JOOM! Online shopping is the sign of the times, and it takes more and more for online retailers to stand out from the competition. To develop a character that is a shopping cart with the personality of a crazy dog on a shopping spree was a great challenge for the Milford team, and a very enjoyable experience. We are hiring! Lead Rigging TD - Milford Animation Studios - Stockholm Milford is an award-winning animation studio based in Stockholm. Our passion is to tell stories with fantastic characters. We are now looking for a great senior rigger to join our team. If you have some years of experience working in a professional studio, we’d love to hear from you. Don't hesitate to send us your portfolio and some info about yourself at [email protected]... Responsibilities: Develop and maintain rigs for a wide range of styles. From stylized cartoon characters to realistic creatures as well as props. Develop modular rigging systems through MEL/Python. Develop publishing workflows/tools for rigs and animation. Work with lead TD’s and artists in other departments to integrate rigs in our pipeline. Set up test procedures to minimize problems with the rigs further down the pipeline. Requirements: At least 3 years documented production experience in a commercial environment. Excellent understanding of anatomy and biomechanics. Fluent in MEL and Python. Experience working with mgear rigging tools is valuable. C++, Maya API knowledge is a plus. Experience in Houdini is a big plus.

Our friends at Hornet NYC approached us to help out with this epic piece, directed by Yves Geleyn. The film Planimation tells an intricate story about how small accidents can have huge consequences, drawing a parallel to cosmic events and cancer treatment in a uniquely original way. Milford helped out with the CGI production, modelling, previz, animation and lighting of 3d objects to nail the mix of 3D and 2D that the director had envisioned. With the benefit of real light...ing from the CG, rich matte paintings, and painted textures throughout, we were able to marry these techniques together in an elegant way to create a rich and unique world. says Yves.
