Last year I got the assignment to photograph national park Tyresta outside Stockholm, 20 years after the huge fire that destroyed much of the forest. I found it miraculous that in this apocaliptic forest of death, new life is sprouting. To characterize this rebirth, I thought the blackbird would be the perfect symbol and I waited two hours for this beautiful bird to land on the branch of this charred trunk relic.
